Autumn Images

This has been one of the most beautiful Autumns I can remember.... with mild temps and many sunny days, which has made garden clean-up a pleasant task. I've been so busy outdoors, I nearly missed capturing a few photos of the fall colors with my camera.

This wild Cherry tree stands just behind our wood shed. The day after I took the photo, the tree was nearly bare....the bright leaves piled in a soft bed beneath it's limbs.

Our mountain in Autumn. The sky was grey on this particular day, but the colors brilliant.

These beautiful rose hips dot the hillsides in abundance at this time of year.

A scene on the Southfork of the Clearwater River, with Autumn colors at their peak.

It is very inviting. Your view and surrounding area is pretty. I'll be sitting looking at bare trees soon but you have all those beautiful evergreens.

Those are some great scenes...I really have to take a trip somewhere soon while there is still some Fall left...oh and rose hips are always nice to see.

You really got the Clearwater colors well, Connie! Mine didn't turn out all that well; and your rose hips look good enough to make a cup of tea with. I'm going to use my rose hip pics for Christmas cards.

The Clearwater picture is just gorgeous and the color within the pines along it you captured.

Gosh, your photos are just lovely. I need just one more good weekend to finish up what needs to be done outdoors. Crossing my fingers.

Connie, What a beautiful, beautiful place you're in! Thank you for sharing these Fall photos.

And thanks for visiting me! Do you have any tips as far as vermicomposting goes? I'm very excited about doing this, but obviously I'm a "newbie!" :-) (You weren't offended by my Norwegian flavored story, were you??)

It has been beautiful here also. The shot across the river is a beauty and illustrates the quote beautifully!

Hello Connie;

I have to say there's something about that picture of the Clearwater River that makes me keep looking and looking for a mule deer or elk or bear to come walking to the river bank. This year I wanted to take lots of pictures and it just didn't work. We are closing down our nursery for the season and it's been a great first year at our new location but there's lots left to do.

Vermont's foliage season was the best I can ever remember. The last week in September here was terrific with some of the brightest reds we've ever seen. By Columbus Day it was about over save for the yellows of the tamaracks and birches but the memory remains in the few pictures I found time for.

Thanks for some reminders of "your" season.

When my husband was in 1976, he was a forester Coeur d'Alene. He's always telling me about beautiful Idaho.

Beautiful shots! We have had an exceptionally lovely fall, too. And, I sure enjoyed it this year. No snow here yet, but only 38 degrees!
